Recruitment
CLARA is built by its members. We look for students who are serious about the craft of luxury retail, including the standards, the service, and the discipline behind it. What follows is what we ask, and how to apply.
The Committees
Every member of CLARA serves on one of our committees. Each committee supports a function, including events, design, finance, and conduct, and is led by a committee chair.

Common Questions
No, we look for curiosity, discipline, and a genuine interest in the craft, not a résumé of past positions. Many of our strongest members joined with no prior exposure to the industry.
CLARA prioritizes applications from second-years through fourth-years at the college, who have a clearer sense of their career direction. However, if first-years or graduate students are interested, we will of course, review such applications.
Members are expected to attend weekly meetings, participate in their committee's work, and attend the quarterly events. Plan on roughly 4–6 hours per week, with busier stretches around our major gatherings.
CLARA events are open to all University of Chicago students, aside from members-only programming.
